Webinar - Buzzing about Biotechnology: Essential Insights for Launching Your Course
Note- This webinar was Previously Live
Two of our original Bio-Rad master biotechnology teacher trainers, Kirk Brown and Stan Hitomi, hosted a Q&A session for new biotech instructors, followed by a webinar designed to prepare you for your first few weeks of teaching a biotech course.
Kirk, the author of "Biotechnology: A Lab Skills Course," taught biotech for 25 years at Tracy High School. Stan, a seasoned teacher, school and district administrator, is the narrator of the Bio-Rad biotechnology technique video series on UA-cam.
Together, they covered the essentials to help you set up your course at the start of the school year. Topics included:
- Planning your first three weeks
- Structuring your course and calendar
- Selecting and prioritizing key labs
- Establishing routines for lab note-booking, grading, and safety
- Effective teaching strategies
- Managing lab prep

      @@szebike they are incredibly similar. These models are designed exactly like how your brain works. A LLM parameter is more analogous to a neural synapse but that being said, what’s the difference between LLM backpropigation and synaptic placidity when learning? The medium does not matter here

    • @Nicogs
      @Nicogs 2 місяці тому

      @@carpinado3089Hold your horses, pardner. These models aren't designed "exactly" like our brains. They're more of an interpretation based on our current understanding of brain function at a physical level. Despite having seemingly unlimited access to memory and processing data at lightning speed, these models often stumble when faced with even basic intelligence tasks. This discrepancy suggests that there are still many mysteries left to unravel about how the human brain operates.

    • @carpinado3089
      @carpinado3089 2 місяці тому

      @@Nicogs the models don’t have unlimited anything. Compute and memory are two major bottlenecks right now. As big and complex as LLMs may seem, our connectome is exponentially more complex and numerous in structure. This with neuroplacisity solves the mystery you speak of. Both us and LLMs converge on binary computations. That being said, fundamental architecture of DNNs is exactly like our brains in both move data along nodes with different intensities/weights every step of the way. While different in their chemical vs digital medium, the advancement is also exponential. Top LLMs do not struggle with basic intelligence anymore

      it will destroy it and that's the point actually because we don't want to keep dragging a huge number of bacteria. After we flame it for the second time, we keep spreading the inoculum that we already have on the agar plate. So, by the end, we can get single colonies. I found that when I filtered my sample, the concentration as well as the volume of my prepared sample also get decreased.
